Our mission
At Interactive X-Wall, our mission is to get as many people moving as possible. We believe that gamification is key to stimulating physical activity and health, especially in children. By integrating sports and play with modern technology, we aim to have a positive impact on both the physical and mental health of young people and contribute to their academic performance.
Origins
Interactive X-Wall is based in Hengelo and was founded from a simple observation. As a community sports coach, Maikel Rijnenberg noticed a decline in children's participation in local sports and physical activities. This changed when he organised a laser game afternoon themed around Fortnite, the immensely popular online game. To his surprise, dozens of children showed up, playing, running, and having fun together. This success inspired Maikel, who has a background in sports science, to develop the interactive X-Wall in collaboration with his partner, Erkan Kuzucu.
At Interactive X-Wall, we value health, education, and innovation. Our goal is to get everyone moving and contribute to the health and physical well-being of individuals.
We see primary schools as the ideal place to get many children moving. That's why we have developed over 35 educational games that align with the SLO Learning Lines. With the X-Wall, schools can easily incorporate active learning into their educational programmes without additional time or effort. This allows them to take the next step towards a dynamic school day.
