Mariaschool in Zandvoort

In March 2024, we were able to install the X-Wall at the Mariaschool in Zandvoort. They purchased the X-Wall with the help of the Youth Education Fund's grant so that students can benefit from moving learning.

Moving learning with the X-Wall

The X-Wall is a valuable addition to the curriculum at Mariaschool. In addition to the moving-learning sessions with the X-Wall, students get the chance to play another fun games. This not only makes learning more fun, but also motivates the students to put in extra effort. The fun games ensure that the children maintain the enjoyment of learning while reinforcing their motivation to do their best.

With the X-Wall, the school can use cooperative forms of work to make learning more varied and fun for the children. By setting up the tables in a kind of circuit, students can go over obstacles in small groups to then give the correct answer to the question.

Debbie van someren Teacher

“The physical obviously supports the cognitive brain. And that's a different way of learning. That also works very pleasantly and for some children better.”

Fun with the X-Wall

The X-Wall is also used at Maria School during recess when it rains outside. This allows students to still be active regardless of the weather. With the wide range of games for different groups, the X-Wall offers fun and educational activities for everyone. For language and spelling, there are special games that help children with vocabulary, spelling and language skills. Think of games where they can learn the “EI” and “IJ. This way they learn through play and stay motivated to engage with language, even if they can't go outside for a while.

Kylian Apprentice

“The X-Wall is nice because it has all kinds of games you can choose from.”
